Welcome
to my homepage, which is, as you can see, based upon Steven Spielberg's 'Back
to the Future' film trilogy.
The 'Back to the Future' film trilogy was a superb collection
of films created by Steven Spielberg (left), the man behind other films
classics such as Jaws, ET, Gremlins, Indiana Jones, Close Encounters
of the Third Kind and Jurassic Park.
A blockbuster film on its release in 1985, 'Back to the
Future' was a wonderfully executed family sci-fi masterpiece that
went on to spawn two sequels.
This site is, therefore, my tribute to the 'Back to the
Future' film trilogy and the hours of endless entertainment it has
provided me. In fact, I dread to think of the amount of time I
have wasted watching the three films over and over and over again!
Originally
conceived as a one-off production, 'Back to the Future' became the
highest-grossing film of 1985, earned director Robert Zemeckis (right)
and co-writer Bob Gale Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for Best
Original Screenplay, and lay the foundation for one of the most popular
and successful film trilogies ever created.
When
Zemeckis and Gale pooled their talents in the fall of 1980 to write the
initial draft of the first 'Back to the Future' film, they centred their
ambitious, technology-driven time-travelling storyline around an
emotional "centre" any audience could easily relate to.
Zemeckis describes their general approach with a smile, "When you
were a kid, did your father or mother ever tell you all the tough things
they did as kids? Like walking 12 miles to school and doing their
homework on a shovel? Wouldn't it be interesting to go back and see if
they really did walk through those blizzards?"
Discussing
the origin of one of the film's key plot devices, co-writer and producer
Bob Gale adds, "Sometimes you'll look at your parents' high school
yearbooks and think 'I can't believe my dad ever went to high school and
I can't believe my mum ever went out on a date' but there are the
pictures to prove it." Teenaged time-traveller Marty McFly,
of course, will see Gale's yearbook analogy come surprisingly - and
downright uncomfortably - to life.

I have also found two very interesting 'Back to the
Future' Websites on the Internet, one is an unofficial site
dedicated to the film and can be found by clicking here
and the other is the official Website, and that can be found by clicking
here.
I hope you enjoy browsing the site, but make sure that
you don't lose track of time!

THE
BTTF TRILOGY |
|
In
1985, Spielberg and Zemeckis wrapped production on a
comedy-adventure. An obscure, paradoxical tale of
time-travel, and originally a one-off, BTTF became
the highest-grossing film of 1985.
